Swan Charter Crew - Jarrod

Crew Member JarrodJarrod first became interested in sailing at the age of about 4 years old when his uncle built a 40’ ferro-cement yacht in his back garden. So involved was he at the time he remembers working on a very special piece of teak, and later saw it in pride of place at the yacht’s launch, or so he believes still to this day!

A superb teacher, Jarrod has had years of experience training crew, from weekend courses to crew for Atlantic races. So if you want to brush up on or even learn some sailing skills then he is certainly qualified to assist. He has a very strong background in yacht maintenance from running 80’ carbon racing yachts to Operations Manager of a race charter company. He is a commercially endorsed Ocean Master, having skippering many different yachts in the UK, Europe and across the Atlantic. He has competed in many races over the years from best visiting yacht and 1st in class at the 2004 Rolex Cup in St Thomas to 2nd in Class and line honours in the ARC 2006. Prior to joining DreamCatcher he was captain on a 72’ Oyster which he helped commission and then charter in the Mediterranean and Caribbean.

When not sailing, Jarrod loves an active lifestyle. Mountain biking, windsurfing and scuba diving are just some of the activities he enjoys whilst relaxing. On a less adrenaline fuelled note he loves to read, take photographs or just sit down for a good chat.
